Looking to monitor Palo Alto Internet Access availability, PA VPN availability, as well as Cisco UCS (Jabber/Phones/Webex/etc)...

Does anyone have articles or links to MPs that could assist me in getting these solutions monitored (at least availability-wise) successfully in SCOM and then Squared Up please?

Thanks so much.

The Cisco UCS management pack can be found here :- https://communities.cisco.com/docs/DOC-67249

but this is more for monitoring the hardware infrastructure, rather than the software services

Awesome. Thanks. Any ideas on how you could use monitors to truly measure vpn or ucs capability? I’ve thought of connecting to the ports or web urls but that really doesn’t truly tell me. I guess it could get hard to manage. I just need to draft uptime for-these services on sup.

What model of palo alto firewall are you using? I’ve created an MP for it before, purely infrastructure though.

I have created one for monitoring SNMP from Palo Alto IDS but it relies on Palo Alto sending the SNMP. Be aware there seems to be an issue with SNMP v3 on SCOM 2012 R2 or at least the comms from Palo to SCOM. I had to downgrade to SNMPv2 to get things to work.

If you don’t get any successful answers, you may want to consider

The MP generator tool for SNMP is meant to be pretty decent to work with (as these things go!)
