why it was not re-calculating the Health automatically even if the actual issue got Solved
As far as I understand, very few monitors actually support the “recalculate” feature. You have to wait for the monitor to change states itself, or just use the reset monitor button if you want to manually change it.
As Bottekott stated, this button does not actually do anything for a large number of monitors.
There are also “manual reset” monitors that require the use of this button. If you look at the monitor properties (right click the monitor in health explorer) and view the “health” tab, you’ll see if it’s a manual reset.
There can be a number of reasons why the monitor did not reset – Do you know what the interval it checks is set to? Was the problem solved and the monitor reset before it’s next check?

I just want to explain the situation.
We have got an alert for one of the proxy node after the Change for updating the NIC.
Still the proxy node is displayed as Critical in SCOM monitoring:
But, the node is working fine and serves the Proxy services. We checked from the Watcher host , the Internet/Intranet sites are working for this proxy node.
So, in troubleshooting the issue I recalculated the health of that monitor and the alert got resolved.
But, I want to know why it was not re-calculating the Health automatically even if the actual issue got Solved and proxy node was working fine.
The alert was opened for one hour. after one hour i recalculated the health then alert got resolved.
If you view the monitor properties from health explorer, can you confirm the interval at which the monitor performs its checks?
