Cannot get Autorotating Dashboards to work - V2

Hi,

I can’t get the autorotating dashboards to work. Tried using just two open access dashboards and still no joy.

The only difference from the instruction is we are using Https, but I don’t think that should make a difference.

It either gives a blank page, or asks for login credentials, even though the two urls are verified open access sites. Here is the debug Dom Explorer

I’ve run debugging on IE and the following is the Console output.

DOM7011: The code on this page disabled back and forward caching. For more information, see: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=291337

Can anybody provide assistance, or a steer? We’ve just bought a big screen and the boss is anxious to show it off.

Thanks,

Fintan

Thanks Jelly, it was as simple as that.

It’s still asking for initial authentication. Is that correct? (even though they are open access dashboards)

Will do.

The symptoms are, that the three open access urls I am using each work individually without authentication, but when they are incorporated in the url that runs the json file, it prompts for authentication.

I’ll post the solution (hopefully I get one).

Ok, Support have come back.

The requirement for a licence/authentication is a known bug in the revolving dashboards. It will not be fixed in V2, but may be in V3 when revolving dashboards are implemented.

The original issue has been resolved, thanks to Jelly.

One other issue, for posterity. If you are using open access dashboards, and they are complex, as one of ours is (with 15 embedded dashboards), then it can take a while to redraw each time it comes around on the revolving.

A potential solution to this is to use the Revolved Chrome add-in, which revolves open tabs. I haven’t used it yet, but it is used in the organisation.

‘Display intranet sites in Compatibility View’ is checked. - This suggests where the problem may be. In IE, click the settings cog > Compatability view settings > uncheck “display intranet sites in compatibility mode”

Does that fix it?

Open Access should not ask for authentication.

I’m curious as to the screenshot that you’ve shown though. Did you follow this guide?

https://tickets.squaredup.com/support/solutions/articles/217469-how-to-configure-auto-rotating-dashboards

Yes, I followed the guide, and the individual embedded urls are open access, i.e. they don’t request authentication. It’s only when I launch it through the json that it prompts for authentication.

Hmm. Not sure what to do next. Might be worth opening a support ticket.

I have the same setup here. More dashboards, less on each dashboard. Seems to work quite nicely.
