I am looking for a solution for monitoring the availability of websites + checking websites for specific content. Right now i use the built-in SCOM Web Transaction Monitoring, but it’s a pain creating and customizing these monitors, the alerts generated from these monitors are also not satisfying 
i searched around and found the URL Genie MP and also an MP from Russ Slaten. I would like to know what you guys out there use

Personally, I built my own MP to monitor websites. I use the concept of “watcher nodes” (agents with some registry setting) and I have an XML file which contains all the sites and uses a simple regex search on the site to determine availability. Multiple watcher nodes must become unhealthy before the “main” alert becomes unhealthy. (I use this to move around small network errors). If I recall, I posted it on the old Technet community site…
