Data sources have a habit of breaking, it could be a change in permissions by the application or an expiring password or access token. You can see the current state of your data sources by going to Settings → Data Sources. It would be helpful to be notified as soon as a data source failed to import.
Fortunately, doing this in SquaredUp is simple. Create a new tile, then:
- Find the 'Index Status data stream, it is part of the built-in SquaredUp data source
- Select the ‘Dynamic selection’ toggle to select all objects (data sources)
- Name and save the tile
Your monitor is up and running, to get an alert when there is a failure, go to the Monitors page and ‘Add Notification’. From here you can chose how you want to receive your notification, a destination, such as an email address. You can also define the Trigger, this is whether you want this notification to be sent for one, some or all the monitors in this workspace.
Here is the finished tile showing data sources as health blocks.
