The statuspage datasource is a great way to monitor my external dependencies, but the ‘organization name’ (the identifier for the correct status page) isn’t always easy to guess.
For example, I want to get the status from SendGrid, whose statuspage URL is https://status.sendgrid.com, but ‘sendgrid’ doesn’t seem to be their statuspage organization name.
Any tips?
Answering my own question…
If you do a DNS lookup on the statuspage URL you can find the cname record that references the underlying statuspage organization name.
For example, using dnschecker.org to lookup on status.sendgrid.com:

The CNAME entry shows:
So the statuspage organization name in this case is 3tgl2vf85cht. That would be hard to guess!
