Truncate Email Subject characters, for SCOM Notifications

I have a requirement to make the Subject line in HTML Alert email notifications (for a few specific alerts) the Alert Description, not the Alert Name.

Does anyone know if you can limit the number of characters that are displayed in the subject line from the $Data/Context/DataItem/AlertDescription$ variable? I don’t want the FULL Alert Description.

None that I know of, you’ll likely need to use a script instead…
