I have some groups that I created in SCOM and which I now need to change the members of due to the decom of servers. I can view the group members but when I go into the group properties the Add/remove objects & Create/edit rules are greyed out. I am in the SCOM Admin group and I created these groups. The groups are for excluding ports etc on a Dell Compellent (eg Storage Center Server ) from monitoring using the Dell MP and has run / is running fine in itself. The groups are managed by Cookdown with a single override per group to disable monitoring. Any idea how I gain access to them again please?
As long as the group is in an unsealed management pack, you should be able to add or remove objects and edit the rules without any issues.
Cookdown does not manage the group you created, but only the overrides applied to it via EasyTune.
Hi Thanos, Thanks for reply. I didn’t think Cookdown would have any effect but its a good point about the MPs being unsealed. They should be but these 3 are sealed whereas all of the others groups I have created are unsealed. I have no idea why but it has found the root issue. Cheers, Ian.
